Blog 5 - Free topic: Aurora

Imagen
Hi everybody! Today I want to tell you about a woman that I admire a lot since the first day I saw her. She is a 24 years old Norwegian singer named Aurora.  The first time I watch an Aurora's concert was accidentally on youtube and I thought she was a weird old lady 😂 (here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_XguuxLo10 ). I really liked her at that time, so I started looking for other songs and information about her, and I discovered her extraordinary personality and world vision. She expresses her wonderful ideas and thoughts in her songs, that are very deep and meaningful. Also, her melodies are very special: a mix between synthesizers, sounds of the nature and native melodies. She describes her music as "dark folk-pop".  Moreover, she has a very special vision about life, that include compassion, empathy, ecology and defense of the discriminated people, like LGBTQ+ community members, women and children, in wich she recognize beauty and power. In addition, s...

Blog 4 - Education: My Experience

Imagen
Hi reader. How are you? :) Today I'm gonna tell you about my experiencie in university education.  When I finished high school I started to studying laws at the Universidad de Talca. At there, I had classmates of every social class, but it was notorius when someone went to a better high school, because they always knew more about history or got a good score in maths PSU, even when they said that it was a bad test for them. They had better skills too, like speak in public or make questions in class, even when they were not good students. It was sad to see my other classmates, the not privileged ones that went to a not good school, put all their effort and study so hard, but never reach out the others. It seems like their destiny was already written.  I left the laws studies in 4th grade (because I hated it hehe) and then start Psycology Studies at the Universidad de Chile, like I always wanted. Here, I think beacuse of the experiencie, I feel less disadvantaged, but when I see ...

Blog 3 - Religion: Is it important to me?

Imagen
Hi everybody, how are you doing? I'm writing this blog at 5 a.m. I'm a night bird 🐦💀 Today I would like to write about religion and tell you if it is important to me. I will start saying: no. Religion is not important for me. Basically because I don't believe in any god nor do I have any beliefs, call it god(s), creator, saints, energies, karma, zodiac, reincarnation, etc; I don't even believe that there is something after death. Maybe you are wondering why, every person that I met believe in something, maybe not God, but at leats SOMETHING, they say that some creator, someone or an energy has to exist. But not me. I really don't believe in any of those things.  First I can say about it is that I'm very rational since always (maybe too much), even when I was a girl. So you will understand that just believe in something, just because you feel it,  don't make sense for me. But I respect if you believe in something, the ones that I mentioned or other. Maybe I...

Blog 2 - Mental health in Chile

Imagen
Hello, reader. Today, I want to tell you about the mental health and its system on our country.  In Chile 22,3% of the population has a diagnosed mental health problem. I emphasize in "diagnosed" because there is a lot of people with a mental health problem without a diagnosis, in some cases because they never went to a psyquiatric consultation or for any other reason. That means that this percentage may be definitely higher. And from that porcentage of diagnosed, just a 35,8% receive a treatment. As you can see, the mental health in our country has a little scope. About the most common pathologies, 6,5% of the population has ansiety and 5% has depression. In the case of suicide, 1 in 100.000 people commits suicide. That means that 5 people die in one day in our country because of that, which puts us in the 4th place of latin american countries with higher suicide rates.  Regarding the financing of menthal health in our country, just 2,4% of the total financing for health go...
